Digital Champions are often appointed by their network, communities or by their workplace to help them promote the benefits of learning technologies and an inclusive and blended learning-organisation. Digital Champions are people of all ages and from all backgrounds and communities.
They help others understand the benefits of using the internet and technology and can show them how to do simple things online that can make a huge difference in people’s lives.
You don’t need to be an IT whizz to be a Digital Champion, just have a bit of spare time, enjoy technology and being online yourself, with a passion for helping other people. Digital Champions work with parents, communities, businesses, governments, and academia.
They do so by helping teachers and communities become digital, by promoting e-skills in education, fostering e-government services, encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting businesses to embrace new technologies and be more competitive, contributing to research and innovation.
Digital Champions advise and positively facilitate the implementation of their community and/or organisation’s Digital Agenda.
